Privacy Policy
Who we are
Klarai is provided by Klarai Ltd. For this beta, Klarai Ltd is the data controller. Contact [email protected] or [email protected].
What “personal data” means
Information that identifies you, or could identify you when combined with other information — name, email, payslip contents, device data.
The information we collect, and why
- Account details (name, email, password hash) to create and secure your login
- Payslip images you upload, sent for analysis and not kept as a photo unless you save the decode to an account
- Decoded figures you choose to store, encrypted at rest
- Usage data to keep the product working and fix bugs
Our legal reasons
Contract (to provide the service you asked for), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), and consent where the law requires it (non-essential cookies).
Open Banking, explained
When it launches, bank connection will be read-only through a regulated Open Banking provider. Klarai cannot move, spend or touch your money. You can disconnect at any time.
Where your data is stored
In a secure database. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to systems and people that need it.
Who else handles your data
Infrastructure and AI analysis providers acting on our instructions. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. Some providers may process data outside the UK with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Account data until you close the account, then deleted or anonymised within 30 days unless the law requires longer. Billing records may be kept for up to 6 years. Open Banking data access stops when you disconnect.
If you’re under 18 (16 or 17)
Klarai is built for 16–24. If you are 16 or 17 we still only collect what the product needs. Do not use Klarai if you are under 16.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to some processing, and complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Keeping your data secure
Passwords are stored hashed. We cannot see them. No method is perfect — tell us at [email protected] if you think something is wrong.
